Randi Miles interned for Spanish Fork City during Winter 2022 Semester.

Describe a day in your life as an intern.

I would answer emails and calls from employees and citizens. I would take requests and make maps. I then would do mapping projects for new developments.

What industry/job specific skills did you learn?

How developments go through the process of getting approved. Understanding ArcGIS better and learning AutoCAD.

What are three things that you learned from this experience that could be applied to other settings?

Be vocal about your questions. It’s not school: if you fail at a project that’s just fine because you’re learning. Ask if things are backed up to avoid undssecary stress.

What was your favorite part of your internship?

Learning in Seth how to use GIS for a on going major project.

How did you get your internship?

How did this experience contribute to your growth?

I learned the software a lot better, and I gained confidence about my knowledge and skills.
