Nia Colver: Linguistics

Nia was a NLU intern for Aktify during Fall 2022.

How many different technological platforms are used for NLP. For example, I learned how to use Google Sheets better! I wasn't aware of most of the technology that is used in the field, but logging into Amazon AWS and keeping track of records on Sheets were one of the most regular things I did on my internship.

Even those people who have relapsed are happy to be in contact with an agency that originally helped them get better. It's one of the experiences that I share all the time.

Would you recommend this internship to other students, why? 100%! Aktify has a great team that is so supportive and inclusive of the interns! There's definitely still a physical gap between the higher-ups and the interns (mostly because the interns are all remote), but we were invited to every high-stakes meeting and we were essentially on the front lines of Aktify's performance. It was a great look into what a part-time or full-time job could look like post-graduation, and I really felt like I
