What did you learn on your internship that you were not expecting to learn?
I didn’t expect to gain such a deep understanding of how debt management directly influences a company’s strategic flexibility. I learned how even small adjustments in cash positioning and liquidity planning can have a significant impact on investment decisions and overall financial stability.

My internship deepened my interest in corporate finance and strategic advisory work. Experiencing how treasury decisions shape a company’s long-term direction reinforced my desire to pursue a career where I can combine financial analysis with strategic problem-solving, particularly in consulting and corporate strategy roles.
Please share how your experience led to personal inspiration or insightful revelation.
My experience at Marriott International showed me how financial strategy is more than just numbers—it’s about enabling growth and resilience. Seeing how the Cash & Debt team’s work supported the company’s global operations inspired me to approach finance as a tool for driving long-term vision, not just short-term performance.
