Briefly explain what you did and the result of your internship.
I provided assistance by filing tax returns or calculating estimates with corporations located in Chicago for the KPMG Japanese tax practice department.
What did you learn on your internship that you were not expecting to learn?
The importance of teamwork and communication within each department. I thought that most of my work would focus on solo projects and assignments, but everything I do involves the team I work with. Therefore, being able to work with others in my company is very crucial and necessary.
How have your future plans changed because of what you learned from your internship experience?
In terms of my future plans, they have changed as I am able to speed up the process of my career due to the skills, knowledge, connections, and experience I gained from my internship. Before my internship, I would have been in a more difficult position as my career path is competitive, with people wanting to work at Big Four accounting firms. However, now I can have a better chance of receiving a job offer.

As an intern at KPMG, my experience with the company has been truly inspiring and enlightening. Throughout my internship, I have worked closely with seasoned professionals in the industry, gaining valuable insights into the world of accounting. I am immensely grateful for the valuable lessons learned, the connections made, and the personal growth achieved as an intern at KPMG.
