Laura White: Graphic Design

Laura interned as a graphic designer for BYU Emergency Management during Fall 2022.

What did you learn on your internship that you were not expecting to learn?

During my time as an intern, I was constantly being given assignments that required me to research topics I had previously never studied. Since I was hired as a graphic designer, this aspect of my job was unexpected. Nonetheless, I was very grateful for the chance to explore new subjects and find ways to creatively display what I had learned.

How have your future plans changes because of what you learned from your internship experience?

My internship made me more excited for my future career.

One of the primary purposes of experiential learning at BYU is inviting the inspiration of the Spirit into your learning. How were you inspired during this experience?

My boss was an incredible example of Christlike love. She supports everyone she works with and makes everyone in our office feel welcomed and appreciated.

Would you recommend this internship to other students, why?

Absolutely! I loved my internship and am extremely grateful for the experiences that I had there.
