Holly was an intern for BYU Pathway during Fall 2024.
Briefly explain what you did and the result of your internship.
I worked as a project management specialist for BYU-Pathway's Communications team. I processed and monitored project request to increase efficiency and transparency among departments. I also was able to be the lead on planning various events, from small delegate luncheons to high donor councils.
What did you learn in your internship that you were not expecting to learn?
That perhaps I do not want to work full-time for the church in the future...
How have your future plans changed because of what you learned from your internship experience?
I want to pursue project management more seriously now. I plan on obtaining my PMP certificate next summer to help me in search for higher-paying jobs
Please share how your experience led to personal inspiration or insightful revelation.
I learned that I enjoy project management and am fairly good at it! The skills needed for the job are all ones that I am familiar with/ want to have, so it will push me to continue growing.
Would you recommend this internship to other students?
I would! It is a positive work environment and you learn a ton about the workings of a communication team.
