Daniel completed an internship with BYU Broadcasting as a post-production audio engineer. Here is what Daniel has to say about this experience:
What day-to-day tasks were part of this experience?
Day-to-day tasks included mixing promos, training on several industry-standard, state-of-the-art sound boards, and occasionally writing music for content.
Was this experience a confirmation that you are going in the right direction, or is it a pivot to something else?
Confirmation. This experience reinforced that I am meant for audio. Specifically, I am destined to write music. Even in a non-musical audio job, my passion for music opened doors and created opportunities for me that I could not have had otherwise.
Would you recommend this internship to other students?
Absolutely. This is the best method at BYU to learn post-production audio and be paid to do so. Dan and Clarke are both seasoned industry professionals and knowing them is an invaluable blessing - they both open many doors for students into the industry through their connections.
