Cole McClure: Pre-Business

Cole interned as the men's tennis team manager for BYU during Fall 2022.

What did you learn on your internship that you were not expecting to learn?

I learned how to manage many different personalities and thing you need to focus on with certain people that you may not need to with others.

How have your future plans changes because of what you learned from your internship experience?

I have considered other avenues to get to my goal because of my internship.

One of the primary purposes of experiential learning at BYU is inviting the inspiration of the Spirit into your learning. How were you inspired during this experience?

As I observed the tennis players I saw that the people that put the time and effort into practice were the ones that showed signs of progress in matches and on the team. This correlates with our lives in that as we put time and effort into having a relationship with Christ will we be able to see the signs of that relationship in our lives.

Would you recommend this internship to other students, why?

I think this internship is a great opportunity, but I would only recommend it to students that have a good understanding of tennis already and love the sport.

Is there anything else you would like to say regarding your internship?

My internship was a great experience to work with the BYU Men’s Tennis Team and I am grateful for all the people I was able to interact with because of it.
