Brittany Eastman: Journalism

Brittany was a Social Media Intern for A Child's Hope Foundation during Winter 2026.

Briefly explain what you did and the result of your internship.

This internship allowed me to work on my writing skills and let me be creative in a way that was meaningful. I was able to edit videos and to tell stories of orphans who need support, and help audiences around the world to be a part of that.

What did you learn on your internship that you were not expecting to learn?

I learned all of the different supplies and stories of orphans. I learned how they are being helped and how many go without help all of the time. In a way I was able to see a new perspective, and it really opened my eyes and heart to new volunteer opportunities. But as for my experience within the internship, I learned different software that I’ve never used before, and I learned some valuable teamwork skills.

How have your future plans changed because of what you learned from your internship experience?

Yeah! I plan to maybe go on a trip when I can afford it. A humanitarian trip, I see people around me having the opportunity, and it always seems like such a life-changing experience and again, this is definitely another cause that I can get behind and it just seems so personal to me. What this company really stands for is to give people hope, and coming from a line of people who were adopted, including myself, and having my middle name be Hope it really just seems like that is something that I am supposed to spread.

Please share how your experience led to personal inspiration or insightful revelation.

I am myself and I’m adopted, so helping this nonprofit alone seemed really personal to me. So, I think being able to donate to charities or time or at least be more aware of others, especially children who cannot help themselves quite yet because they don’t have the resources is something that I would definitely focus on more. It really made me think about all the different trials that God gives each one of his children, and of what we can learn from those trials and how we can turn them to testimonies and how we can share a testimonies with everyone and grow our own. I think that’s what’s so beautiful about unique experiences and being able to step into somebody else’s world, is that you get not only a reality check but a glimpse of somebody else’s life and their testimony.

Would you recommend this internship to other students?

Oh yeah! The people were amazing to work with, I felt supported and welcomed to the entire time and the cause is unmatched.

Is there anything else you would like to say regarding your internship?

That there are opportunities all around us to be more aware of others, and when we really take a look outside of ourselves as when we can feel more of God‘s love. Getting to know other people is getting to know other testimonies, and to know God deeper.

I would have multiple weekly meetings, just to make sure that our strategies were correct and that we could thrive as a team. It really was a teambuilding experience which will help me in the future.
