Ava was an Intern for Scandinavia- ISP Program in Sweden during Spring 2025.
Briefly explain what you did and the result of your internship.
I am currently working for a start-up company in Stockholm, Sweden, assisting in marketing the newest version of a database software they have built. The team largely in charge of developing the database are not able to/do not know how to market their product, so I and another intern are tasked with preparing content (blogs, videos, social media posts, etc.) to build awareness and attention to the company and the database.
What did you learn on your internship that you were not expecting to learn?
Because my internship is still ongoing, I haven't learned it fully yet, but I will! I'm going to learn some more intermediate/advanced video editing to create a YouTube video marketing the newest version of a database system being released.
How have your future plans changed because of what you learned from your internship experience?
I have discovered that my dream of working abroad is truly possible and something I really want. My dream is becoming a real, tangible goal of mine that I am actively working towards.
Please share how your experience led to personal inspiration or insightful revelation.
I have done some very difficult things and work for a company that deals in highly advanced AI technology that I do not have a background in. I have come to realize that I have all of the abilities and skills to thrive anywhere, and if I dedicate all I can to do my best, I can thrive anywhere.
Would you recommend this internship to other students?
Yes! I have learned so much from this and have grown so much in skill, confidence, and ability. The opportunity to intern abroad has taught me so much about all of the cultural differences between Sweden and the US, from holidays to workplace. You learn so much more than you can imagine.
Is there anything else you would like to say regarding your internship?
I am doing this internship to get my Global Business Certificate from the Marriott Business School's Whitmore Global Business Center.
