Anna Dalley: Information Systems

Anna was a project and facilities management intern for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints during Spring Term 2023.

Briefly explain what you did and the result of your internship.

I was able to manage different projects within the Church, for me it was specifically with temples. I have been in charge of many projects to upgrading various technologies in the temples, and some construction. I get to have video calls with temples all over the world, including Seoul, Hawaii, Brazil, and many US locations.

What did you learn on your internship that you were not expecting to learn?

How to politely follow up with people. They understand that it is my job to get things done, and follow up, so they were always respectful and appreciative when I felt like I was nagging them.

How have your future plans changed because of what you learned from your internship experience?

They haven't changed, but it solidified that I really enjoy being a project manager. I think the work is nice and fulfilling.

Please share how your experience led to personal inspiration or insightful revelation.

I had thought working for the church would be a cool and fun experience, but it has been even better than I thought it would be. I love working with the temples, and it has led me to receive some insightful revelation that this is something I can see myself doing for a career.

Would you recommend this internship to other students?

Yes! The environment is awesome. Sometimes it is a little slow, but it doesn't last long. You do actual work that the other project managers are doing. There are some good mentors that you work with. Overall it was a great experience.

This is me at the temple grounds!
This is me in an online meeting. My job is remote, so I sit in a lot of meetings like this.
