Aaron was an intern as a Student Manufacturing Engineer at Elkington Electric during Winter 2025.
Briefly explain what you did and the result of your internship.
Elkington is transitioning from an R&D EV startup, to a low-volume vehicle manufacturer. I was able to assist in this transition by standardizing processes, building vehicles, and collaborating with team members
What did you learn on your internship that you were not expecting to learn?
Leadership skills come from careful listening and observing, then assertive and thoughtful actions.
How have your future plans changed because of what you learned from your internship experience?
My future plans have been confirmed and validates because of my experience at Elkington.
Please share how your experience led to personal inspiration or insightful revelation.
My goal at a company of this size was to learn as much as I could and decide if this was the career path for me. I have been excited to see the growth potential and the enjoyment I had going into work everyday. This career path will help me accomplish the life goals I have set for myself
Would you recommend this internship to other students?
I would highly recommend this internship, but only to highly motivated individuals. I learned a lot, and gained valuable skills every day. This internship has prepared me heavily for the future career that I hope for, and despite long hours and sometimes demanding work, it was very enjoyable.
