What did you unexpectedly learn?
I did not think I would learn so much about community resources, I was also trained on crisis situations and immediate action-taking.
Would you recommend this internship to others?
Yes, I would - this is a great way to becoming more exposed to mental health, learning about community resources, and writing case files. I will be continuing graduate school as I expected, but this internship opportunity supported my schooling by increasing my exposure to common mental health problems. Dr. Barley is a wonderful supervisor and is very willing to support and help interns.
