I worked on a project that involves the Suicide risks and protective factors for Transgender members and ex-members of the Church.

What did you learn unexpectedly?
I didn't realize how much transgender individuals can suffer before they come out and how that experience can literally save their life.
How has this experience influenced your career goals?
As a future doctor, I have a greater understanding and respect for the experiences of transgender individuals, and I will use this to be compassionate to their health needs.
What types of new opportunities are now available because of the experience?
I feel that I can relate to transgender individuals more, and I feel comfortable learning about their experiences.
