Cycle of Inspiring Learning
The process of experiential learning teaches students how to learn through experience.
REFLECTION: Identify what and how it was learned. Articulate learning through a formal process.
INTEGRATION: Apply knowledge to experience. Regularly evaluate intentions against what is being learned in the experience.
INTENTION : Approach experience with purpose and forethought. Frame the experience with specific outcomes and a process for achieving them.
Experiential Learning Cycle
Experiential learning at BYU should develop disciplinary skills and practice, foster broad, boundary-crossing professional competencies, inspire greater learning, and imbue habits of lifelong learning in students. We believe these purposes are most successfully achieved through a process of intention, integration, and reflection.
