The Student Innovator of the Year (SIOY) Competition is for students interested in innovation, engineering and creating an impact in the world! Competitors can receive up to $400 in funding to help with prototyping, research, etc. and are in the running for part of the total $50k in prize money.

BYU’s Professor of Plant and Wildlife Sciences, Dr. Rick Jellen, and his team of undergraduate students are developing a hybrid of quinoa that will survive harsh environments. Experiential learning trips to Morocco have resulted in students sitting down with local farmers and eating couscous made with BYU strains of quinoa.

The Student Research Conference (SRC) is an annual event sponsored by the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (CPMS) that gives both graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to present their research in a professional conference setting.

The CPMS "Three-Minute Thesis" is an annual event that challenges students working on a graduate degree to present their thesis in just three minutes. Master your thesis and compete to potentially earn prize money!
